Let's Talk Riding!
There's nothing like it!

I've been riding for over 30 years (has it really been that long??),
and with that 30 years comes a lot of experience.

Riding for me is like breathing.  Without it, the world isn't as
bright.  The AHH is missing.  When I get on a bike, I feel every bit
of stress disappear.  Unless you ride, you just don't get it.

My brother, Steve, and I rode the Lake Tour around Lake Huron a
few years back.  We found some amazing spots to stop, eat and
stay along the route.  If you ever get a chance, go to Manitowaning
Bay on Manitoulin Island.  There is a restaurant there that has a
back patio with a spectacular view of the bay.  If you are looking for
that bar (I can't remember the name of it!), ask anyone local where
the steam ship is docked.  It is right beside it.  We crossed from
Sault Ste. Marie into the USA and went across the Mackinac Island
Bridge.  Now THAT is not for the faint of heart!  It is 170 feet above
the water, and the left lane is grated.  In 1989, a Yugo car was
crossing it in high winds, and was lifted up and over the side of the
bridge into the water below.  Needless to say, the woman driving
the car didn't survive!  You can read about that
here.  So my
advice?  Don't cross the Mackinac Island Bridge in high winds on a
bike!

It is this love of riding and exploring the nooks and crannies of the
world that made us want to help others discover the unique places
to ride and eat.  And that's how Slither Rides began.

We would love to show you and your friends some of the cool
things we have found, and I look forward to riding with all of you!

Feel free to email me with places to ride eat that you have been.
We will post them on a page here that we call
Favourite Places.
